Refrain struggled to remove one of her hooves from the logs. After removing it she leaned her head down so she could use her antlers to help move or break through some of the logs and proceed at her normal pace.

(Just a touch of lag here but I'm only refreshing intermittently. Reading in another tab X3)

The next obstacle wasn't too far. Refrain decides to pick up the pace a bit to the next obstacle and runs hard.

She could do this, she just had to keep her pace and then she could speed up. It did seem like others were slowing ahead, so maybe she could still make it. The main thing was not to panic like before and hope that her wings would help her out of the mud hole. Keeping slightly calm, Refrain continued...

It seemed like the vines didn't prove themselves too troublesome. She spotted the sinkhole as a few of the others waded through it. Refrain's wings fluttered by her sides, perhaps the fins would actually come in use. She kept up her normal pace, preparing for the dive in.

Refrain notices that some of the Sams ahead of her are slowed down a touch by something or other, but she was falling behind everyone as well. She was all warmed up now too, hopefully there wasn't too much of a chance for her to trip as she started a normal pace.

Refrain ignores the bypassing Sams, keeping to her pace. By going easy she was bound to have more energy for the end.

Refrain begins to slow down as the nerves slow down and starts to take it easy and ration out her strength.

Refrain gives into a mass of nerves and bolts off hard at the start.

Refrain: -pacing around to get rid of nerves-
