LBPhoenix –
The squeeze was tight and as the mare moved through the smallest crevice it seemed as though her carry basket was caught on a protruding piece of rock. Freeing herself from the wall’s grasp a horrific ripping sound echoed through the cavern. Glancing back toward the basket in horror a huge hole greeted her as well as a missing brown lamanayr feather!

So far things were not going her way. Searching for the missing feather was nigh impossible with the fog rising from the hot pool in the back of the cave. Moving toward the heat to thaw her frozen hooves, the occasional sound of water moving could be heard. Through the fog of steam the mare could see a dark shadow moving. No longer was the mare alone in the cavern. Something or someone else was in there with her!

“Hello?” Came a light female voice from the pool. “Anyone?!” Through the fog Glow could make out a samanayr mare with a foot stuck in the a crack beneath the water. “Oh! I’m not alone afterall! Can you help me? I seem to be stuck…” The mare which looks more like a feathered bird than a samanayr is obviously distraught.

“I thought I’d warm up when I slipped on the stone and got my hoof caught in this crevice…tell you what, you help me out of this crevice and I’ll hand over the gleamstone I found while trying to free myself.”

The wet in winter time was not what one would consider as fun. The clear depths of the spring seemed endless, steeply sloping down into darkness. The shallows were nothing more than a ledge and there was not much besides its icy bottom in sight.

Moving away from the pool did not improve Whip’s luck as he suddenly found himself face down against a rocky floor. Turning to glare behind him, his bright red eyes caught sight of a small spikey plant with tiny red berries. The rosa berries had grown at an angle, wrapping itself against a rock just close enough to it to make it a hazard in the darkness.

Sore and ready to move on the stallion pulled his mind together. Well at least he had two items of value to take back to the Shiarans. As the Sa’kiren began to turn from the pool toward the shore a flash of color floating on the water’s surface caught the stallion’s eye. There in the center of the deep pool a rainbow lamanayr feather floated. Another swim would grant the stallion a full basket and quite the story to share with his song.

Origami_ Dragon:
Triumph wasn’t alone for long. As she stalwartly worked to wiggle and climb her way free of the snow bank, a small yet round looking hare slowly crept up toward her. It paused a few feet from the struggling Lamanayr, ears flicking upwards and forward from their laid back position. Curiously, the small creature observed for a few moments. The rabbit rose up onto its large back feet, bringing its forepaws up to brush across its face as if cleaning it. Once the creature had groomed itself to its satisfaction, the hare loped forward within reach and eyed the flyer’s baskets with a hungry eye.

Tentatively, the creature moved closer- paws outstretched. As it neared the basket it was suddenly startled by a shriek at its back. Another rabbit had appeared this one a dusky coated female. She seemed to scowl at her mate from where she sat, several sprigs of Rosa Berries carefully held in her mouth by the stems. The buck’s ears flicked backwards against his head and he backed away, peering toward Triumph with an apologetic glance. The lady rabbit bounded forward, berries in tow. They left a trail in the snow in her wake- too heavy to be completely carried by the female. She sat her treasures aside and began to assist digging the Lamanayr out of the snow- her mate moving in to assist on Triumph’s back legs. Soon enough, they’d all managed to get her enough space to climb out and free herself.

Both rabbits stood patiently and watched, the male moving forward to nose three of the rosa berries toward the larger creature before both turned and darted back into the snow field…. Seemingly leaving a gift.

Dig, dig, dig- leap. Dig, dig, dig- leap. Luster’s pattern continued as she worked her way across the field in whatever clever patterns she seemed to be formulating in her search. On the third leap of her second set of designs, her hooves found something soft- something that suddenly moved and leapt up at the sudden prod of feet against its back. There was a flash of red and white, a flurry of movement, and a startled shriek as whatever it was shot up out of the snow into the air.

The critter arched backwards and fell onto its back on the snow, sliding away from the intruder with an almost serpentine retreat. It rolled forward, plump belly touching the cool snow as it faced its ‘attacker’. It chirped loudly, a series of almost bark-like yips, snaps, and growl-like sounds. Whatever it was saying, it was giving Luster a piece of its mind.

Median’s trip deeper into the forest provided a new perspective on the heavily decorated trees. The further in she got, the more brightly lit the trees became. Large bulbs and smaller, icicle lights dangled from every branch and tree trunk. Though the sun couldn’t reach through the trees in most parts, the lights provided a rainbow spectrum of illumination and color.

As the young samanayr pranced through the collective of decorated trees, a sparkle at the corner of her eyes caught her attention. Something glimmered, brighter than the lights but because of them- the light shone across something metallic nestled down in a small clump of grass. As she moved forward to inspect, a piece of silver bark sat tucked on the grass like an Easter egg. All around her, the trees swayed gently in the breeze- as if sensing she’d wanted to find the particular treasure and gifting it to her for her kindness.

Cosmic Dragon –
It was much darker down in this new area. Poison found himself in near darkness, pitch black and icy cold. The sound of his own scampering and struggling echoed loudly, sounding like two or three other samanayrs scuffling about all around him. If he froze, he could hear the faint sounds of breath or steam exhaling through the room. It was an incredibly creepy atmosphere and as he waited, listened, and stared out into the darkness he began to realize he wasn’t alone.

Something was clicking, like the sound of teeth chattering together accompanying a faint tinkling of a bell. A loud, grumbling sound followed- a growl, or something grumbling? As Poison listened it began to sound more and more like something was snoring!
Further inspection of the lower cave area revealed more of the soft straw gathered back into one corner. Here, a samanayr mare was nestled against the cold of the cave… sleeping peacefully. Or rather, snoring peacefully.

It was beautiful the way the ice crystals formed at the center of the frozen lake. Light reflected a series of rainbows across the ice field offering those lucky enough a chance to catch winter at its best. Through the sheen of rainbow light a piece of the rainbows seemed to break away and fly into the air.
Chasing after the rainbow sprite the air elemental proved to be a challenge as the wind picked up the two pieces and turned them toward opposite directions before pushing them back together again. A dance of light against the fragments revealed the flashes to in face be two rainbow lamanayr feathers!

Saiki –
At first glance, the tree seemed empty. Misery was on his hind feet, for legs propped against the tree as his neck stretched out so he could peer up into the branches- through the decorations and tinsel, the shiny baubles and lights. As his eyes sought out anything of interest, something from above dislodged and dropped down to strike across his nose.

One of the ornaments, an orb of light blown-glass had fallen down and bounced off his nose to the ground. After a few moments, while the startled samanayr misery was peering toward the ground- a pine comb was tossed down through the branches and bounced off his head to join the ornament.

From above, a soft chittering of ‘laughter’ erupted into the sounds of tinkling bells and chimes. Something moved away from the tree trunk, brown and green moving against brown and green. It was hard to pick out what exactly was making its way down toward him… but after a moment an earthy colored Kreenasa Dragonet stopped just out of his reach and perched on a branch. Her chest puffed out proudly, as if preening at her aim and ability to ping the curious samanayr misery on the head. She leaned forward, chirping inquisitively.
