Sa'krien Mystics aren't a possibility because it would just end up a Misery, period. The magic that was used to create the Sa'kriens interferes with the Samanayr magic that's used to create Mystics and just makes it go all bad and wrong and Misery XD

And there's no reason other species couldn't have a Northern counterpart as well! Or an Aquatic counterpart, of a Desert counterpart, etc.

I would say pregnancy lasts about 6 months, and the average lifespan would be about 30-40 years, although the magical Samanayrs could easily live longer than that. Time passes weirdly in the out-of-character Samanayr world due to their adoptable nature, though - pregnancy and growth taking only a week, for example.

Yes...adoptables play havoc with timelines sometimes... Especially custom breedings where we can request that those two years of life with the birth Song go poof in less than a day... But good to know they can have a nice long life! Now I can say that Flare is in his 20s when I say he's an older fellow!

Will a Mystic x Misery produce a Misery? Or only Mysteries?

Plume sort of did Ori, he was originally a southerly wind that got tangled up with some Sharin magic and poof - fluffy elemental covered in all the stray feather's he'd swept along with him as wind

Am not Rikku, but thanks. I'm already plotting for the rainbow Elemental that I'm interested in and figuring out backstory. I want her to be a rainbow that grew curious about all the moving scraps of color below and managed to somehow turn herself into an Elemental.

Mystic, yes, any species up to and including rare. Anything that's very rare or higher, no.

Not sure if you can get them from non-Mystics, I was thinking about doing so with a Mystic x non-Mystic pair, to guarantee a Mystic XD

But Mystics had to come from -somewhere-, so it might be possible!

@LvSoulFriend - Mystic x Misery has a chance of producing a regular Samanayr, Mystic, or Misery, and a very small chance of producing a Mystery.

@Origami_Dragon - Elementals have to come from somewhere, so I wouldn't say one could necessarily come out of nothing XD However, an elemental could be so old that it can't remember its origins, or just have no memory of where it came from.

@Saiki - Yep, you can use modiems to get a Mystic!

What's the difference between feather mane and feather crest? I've gone through the database's examples of both and I can't find a pattern for which is which.

A feather mane should completely replace the mane, while a feather crest accompanies a regular mane A feather mane can also go all the way down the neck while a feather crest is just on the head. Although I do see one Sam in the database whose feather crest is mislabeled as a feather mane.. I'll go fix that!

Yeah, the feather crest example really has more of a feather mane. The image is from when I didn't have more recent examples of that trait, I should probably replace it XD Come to think of it, the description is also no longer accurate.
