Prehistoric Sam suggestions!
Next month I'll be doing NaNoSamMo, where I try to make a Samanayr per day. I've been lacking in ideas for premade Sams lately, and the idea of dinosaur/prehistoric creature Sams was met with enthusiasm, so..
I'd love to hear your suggestions for dinosaurs and prehistoric critters to base Samanayrs on
If you haven't seem them before, there are a few Sams already out there based on dinos:

Not that Trumpet's colors are...likely to have been how a parasaurolophus looked...but you never know! *squishes him*
Wooly mammoths, saber toothed cats, dimetrodon, caudipteryx, microraptor... Those come to mind right now. I'm sure I'll be back with more suggestions later!

Gah, my dino knowledge is so grounded in the '80s it's laughable. ^~;; Almost as laughable as my ability to spell names.
Let's see... ornitholestes was always a favorite along with ornithomimus. Plesiosarus, hesperornis, rhamphorhynchus for the spiffy tail...
Hyracotherium (Dawn horse) seems appropriate and the Irish Elk had some awesome antlers that could be fun to play with. *nods*

Re: Prehistoric Sam suggestions!
Oooh, yes, I second the plesio, ichthyosaur, and several of the ptero type species! Maybe quetzalcoatlus? Also more hadrosaurs...fun crests. And triceratops and kin would be neat too.
And...I know there's some ice agers I want to suggest...but I can't recall the names right now so will have to hunt around when I get home.
Will be time to drag out the old books and such and go rummaging for names!

I'd love to see a Triceratops or a Maiasaura. Perhaps some of the ice age creatures, like the Wooly Rhino, etc. Maybe a Dodo bird and an Auroch. Warrahs and Elephant Birds are good too~

Re: Prehistoric Sam suggestions!
Mmm...a Styracosaurus would definitely be a showy Sam with those spiky frills... Or maybe a Glyptodont? Stegosaaurus perhaps? Spinosaurus is impressive with that back fin. A Dunkleosteus would be trickier...but quite intimidating.
And...found the name of one of those ice age giants I couldn't recall earlier. Baluchitherium.
So many ideas...

Personally I like to go for the non-traditional dinos and animals... from before? if not after the dinosaurs though are considered the same era?
Sabertooth Tiger
Wooly Mammoth
Elasmosaur
Helicoprion
Mosasaur
Styracosaurus
to name a few... :3

Re: Prehistoric Sam suggestions!
Possibly redundant for sams but... Eohippus?
Re: Prehistoric Sam suggestions!
Ah, someone mentioned Protoceratops.. he was always my favourite. Also the one with five face horns and little horns all around the frill.. Styracosaurus or some such? and the later huge mammals, the giant sloth and the grazing animal with the 'Y' shaped horn on its nose..
Let's not forget the hadrosaur family, either.
