I really love the idea of icon day and I think I'd like to try one myself sometime. However, I think I'd like to try out a few sample icons first XD So, if you have a character you'd like an icon of, just reply to this post with some refs! G-rated and non-fanart characters, please.

Not sure how long this will be open for, but we'll see how it goes! If I don't manage to get all of them done I'll try to at least do a few XD

Name: Idalgala (Idal)
Gender: Male
General Species: Um...monster...horse?
Brief Description: Winged horse-beast. I won't waste your reading powers, he's got great refs.
Personality: A joker and a gentleman; Idal enjoys being a brash braggart, but likes to reserve a bit of the upper class mannerisms for kicks.
Anything else?: He does not like Ferris wheels, they make him sick.
Theme (optional): Um...steampunk? If you feel like it?

I'd absolutely adore one of my Hellhound character, Vaaer. She doesn't get nearly enough fanart. X3 Stealing Jenn's form because its awesome.

Name: Vaaer (often shortened to Vae)
Gender: Female
General Species: Hellhound, though not really the traditional kind
Brief Description: See ref. The only real difference from that is that her mouth is stitched shut, as that was a more recent addition to her design.
Personality: Withdrawn, submissive, and incredibly kind-hearted. She only smiles occasionally, and they're usually pretty small.
Anything else?: Her tail is very, very long, and it's mostly prehensile. She usually lets the end half go slack for use as a whip, or curls it around her back leg as seen in the ref.

If you want to make one of Sarn, I'd love it, I'm sure. The one I used now was made by Unyko like... 10 years ago. I could use a facelift. ;] She looks like a mix of dragon, horse, and feline.

Basically: horse head/body/mane with hooves on back feet, big paws on her front and a cat tail that's disproportionately long, plus draconic wings. The tail is generally smooth like a domestic shorthair (or a monkey, I guess) as opposed to fluffy like a maine coon. She has a spotted pattern as depicted in the chibi Sarnie in my current icon, but she also has a swirly marking that's depicted accurately in this KD version of her (the spots are good here, too):

Her body is white, but otherwise the colors vary. Usually the swirl marking and the spots are not the same color, but they very well could be! You can also give her fangs and claws if you feel like it. Sometimes she likes to look ominous!

I could probably scrounge up some more refs if you need 'em, but she's a shapeshifter so any irregularities are totally fine.

I never fully finished a full body reference and she's kind of still in development, but she's essentially a peregrine falcon-like gryphon with a blue tips at the end of her feathers.

However.... I've always been super curious to see what Pride of the Misguided Arrow would have looked like if you had drawn him.
