Welcome to the Haunted Forest! A forest set up for fright and terror, and a race has been set to run straight through it. Will your Samanayrs survive this race of doom?

Haunted Forest

What's in store for this frightful race? Well that would ruin the surprise wouldn't it? Just expect lots of skeletons, bats, spiders, and other spooky things. This is a ground course, flying is not permitted.

There are 10 spots open for this race.


Racing applications are now CLOSED. The apply for a race spot, send a PM to my account, silvermoondragon, either on the forum or PI(pm’s sent to Sushidragon may get missed or you miss getting the spot you want), with the subject as Haunted Forest and the following form filled out:

Samanayr name:
Samanayr ID:
If the Samanayr is not yours, do you have permission from the owner to use it?
If the Samanayr is not yours, do you understand that any hairclips won cannot be equipped to it unless they're given to the Sam's owner?

Applications will be open until 10:00pm PST, October 29. The race will be run October 30, around 7:00pm PST(time may vary depending on how Halloween preparations go that evening).

Prizes

Here are the spooky prizes available, one of each hairclip is available for each of the races:
Pumpkin hairclip: Offspring will have the Perennial Growth trait, but the 'tree' will be a pumpkin stem.
Vampire hairclip: Offspring will have fangs.
Ghost hairclip: Offspring will have ghostly, ethereal wings.

First place

- First pick from the hairclips(pumpkin, vampire, or ghost).
- One modiem of choice
- One random modiem

Second place

- Second pick from the hairclips(pumpkin, vampire, or ghost).
- One modiem of choice

- The hairclip left over
- One random modiem

Ah, my little menace...at least this is more productive than her trying to headbutt my knees. Good luck guys! I suspect I'll miss watching this one run and shall see results in the morning, but I look forwards to seeing how it turns out!

As the starting gun fires, the racers run off at a blast. The first obstacle comes into sight for some of the fastest, a faint shine of ghostly constructs weaving in and out of the trees.

Hum: *stomps her foot and snorts indignantly at the notion that she might be nervous and consequently almost misses the cue to start*

She is quite confident that her stallion is scarier than anything this forest might hold...we shall see.

*cheers her on for a bit before bed*

The will-o-wisps don't prove to be much of a scare to some, but they have stalled a few of the racers.

Come on Ember! Your papa makes fire shapes for the stories he tells! They aren't spooky at all!

*cheers Hum on* Looks like the wisps didn't bother her a bit once she actually got moving. Though I think she's also too mad at herself for that slow start to really notice them... I wonder if Rend keeps wisps around their home?

As the racers make their way through the course, they come through a dense patch of living trees and vines. How will this terror be handled?

Creak, groan... those branches can be pretty scary at night, especially with their imbued Sharian magic, specially crafted for the Haunted Forest.
