Off to the convention!

We're heading off to the convention today! We're all packed and just waiting for our ride to the airport. Wish us luck, I'll take lots of pictures <3

I know I've been pretty quiet here lately, but that's because I've been doing a lot of preparation for the convention XD I have just over a week to go, so I thought it'd be fun to share what I've worked on so far (besides the Samanayr cards) and what I'll be up to in the coming days.


Charms! I have about 40 done so far, ranging in size from 1/2" to 1" across. They're all hand-drawn and -colored, and each charm is basically a tiny little unique piece of art. This batch includes pizza, a Shiba Inu, a dragon, a wolf, a cat, a pegasus, prawn tempura, blueberry pie, and a phoenix.


I'm printing these cards out and coloring them by hand with markers (I'll also have cards printed on color, although those will be on white cardstock). I love coloring these little fat guys XD


The fridge has become magnet storage for now.

And here's some art I've done for the convention that's not Samanayr-related, so I haven't posted some of it here, I don't think XD

This Glassgryph was actually from a contest a couple of years ago where I challenged people to design interesting Glassgryphs for me to draw so that I could sell the originals at the convention. Two years later, this guy is finally finished XD He's based on the Hoatzin bird.

Another random ACEO, of a unicorn. I gave this one a thick outline and gave the image a patterned paper background, but I scanned before I'd done that.

One question though, how did you make those marble magnets? My friend is also interested in getting some stuff together for a convention and we were both wondering about them.

silvermoondragon, although I shared in the chat, I'll post it again here in case anyone's curious XD If you google 'how to make marble magnets' or something along those lines, you'll be able to find lots of tutorials!

Well, the day got off to a bit of a rocky start (not the table I'd booked, incredibly poor location, terrible dealer's room 'neighbors'), but we've got it all sorted out now and the rest of the day went smoothly I did get some pictures, but right now I need sleeeeeep.

Convention's all done, and we're heading home today! It didn't go as well as I'd hoped, but that's good news for you guys, since only one of the Samanayr cards sold and the rest will be going up in my online store XD

I got a family friend of mine to pick up a card for me, I got the Kirin stallion

Now I just have to wait until Shimmer of Rising Embers(078) finds an owner and then convince her to join a song with him. *plots*

I'm sorry to hear that things didn't sell as well as you'd hoped, but I'm glad you guys had a good time regardless! So much to do and see at conventions.

We still had fun, especially visiting with friends and family outside the convention. It's really fun to meet people at the convention who remember my stuff from previous years and are happy that I'm back <3

I'm going to be setting up the Etsy store within the next couple of days. My first priority when I get back is to get the species contest judged and the monthly schedule for October up, as well as the monthly draw up, but once that's done I'll be stocking the store! Only one of the charms sold as well, so they'll also be in the store!
