It was fun! I wish I'd had more time to devote to it instead of homework, finals, and AP tests. >_>

First, I'd like to thank everyone so much for all your entries I always love reading everyone's interpretations of the Samanayr world and seeing the lovely and creative images you all come up with. Thank you for coming to play in the Samanayrs' world!

You guys also write and draw a lot XD Sorry it took me so long to get through all the entries, but there was a lot to read! And then when I was done going through the entries.. I had to judge them! Agh! That was much more difficult than reading everything XD

Congrats to all of our winners All of your stories and images will be featured on the new Encyclopedia Samanayrica, a sister site that will hold the bulk of the info and creative stuff for Samanayrs. And actually, I'd like to add the stories of all entrants to the site as well There were some themes that were entered more than once (world creation, etc), so they'll be listed as regional myths, or myths as told by a particular species, rather than general to all Samanayrs. ..if that makes sense XD;

I had so much fun with this contest, I'm very glad I placed at all! I actually wasn't sure about the story so much but it nagged at me 'til I ran with it... I guess that's a good thing! Thank you so much for the awesome event, I hope there will be more like this in the future I'm also very much looking forward to peeking at all of the entries on the new site. I hope Janalee will show off her quilt-image, it sounds fantastic!

I've been eyeing the prizes for some time and now I've had such a hard time making up my mind... I think I'd really like Bound of the Diminutive Hound (his floppy ears and tongue make me giggle) and the Breeding Token. I think I also get to choose a modiem? If so, I'd really like a Rarity Modiem! Thank you!

Eee! *dances* I was kind of afraid I'd taken the 'any medium' clause a bit too seriously...especially since I can't really sew. XP I did have a good deal of fun trying to some up with something more stylized though. Here it is, for anyone who wanted to see it a bit early:

Congrats guys! From what I've seen so far there were some amazing entries! Makes my little 2.5 page story seem tiny. But Spectrum insists that's all the longer the story is. I won't post the story here, not unless it doesn't make it to the website, but here's the image.

Had to illustrate Spectrum's favorite part of the story. She loves this story, but not so much making the light pictures for it since up until this, the turning point, everything is pretty much black and white. And it pains her color loving soul to have to leave out the colors she so adores (and er...personifies?).

Ooh, and I have a puppy! Will have to figure out what to call her. Thank you!

I'm glad I got a chance to read your story yesterday, too. I really loved the style of the whole "book", with the parchment-pages and sketching that looks like it was done right on them. I really like how you explain the Sa'krien's ferociousness through the story... I would have just assumed they were just meanie-heads. I think I will look at them all in a new light, now!

And Janalee, I'd been meaning to post since I saw it, your image is lovely! I especially love the braids with the wrappings/nettings on them; it really gives the Sam silhouettes some character. Looking forward to reading your story, I don't know very much about Mysteries at all but I'm looking forward to seeing some characterized

And Ori, Spectrum is one of my favorite Sams, so I'm eager to see what story she wanted you to tell. I can relate to feeling constrained with a tiny palette; everything seems so much more life-like when it's in vivid color!

Pristine, that was a beautiful story! Reminds me of alot of good 'how came to be' myths, yet you made it original and your own! You deserved your placing!

Now I'm eager to read oak's story XD
