Use your NEW words! (Weekly fun)
"Hello..." Crack says in a soft almost inaudible voice as she peeks out from behind a large chalk board, a small piece of white chalk in her mouth. Her large eyes seem creepy… yet their stare seems to lure you closer to investigate what is going on. As you get closer she begins to emerge, closing her eyes in happiness, because she is excited you have come to join her! Though she looks scary and odd… She is quite the intellectual! Hard to believe… I know, but stop by this thread every day or two and you will see her ‘USE HER NEW WORDS’.
This thread is meant to be a fun place for everyone to come and learn! Or teach ;D You are more than welcome to comment on the word of the day, post a sam you feel represents this word or whos favorite word it is, and even add one of your own! (If you would like to post the word of the day please PM RG or post in this thread your requested day so RG can let Crack know that she has a day off Make sure your word is Sam community friendly)
**Note: Not all the words HAVE to be…real? You just need to be sure to put a definition of your word. (Example: Thingamajig – An item or object that has multiple parts) simple and fun right?**
With that being said… here is Crack and her first word of the day!
Crack scowls as RG puts the spot light on her, she hates light. “Ehem” She says as she clears her throat.
“Todays word is:
Pelf– Noun - Ill-gotten wealth; booty.
Pronounced : 'PELF'
In a sentence / common use of the word:"You have to be here for a while before this kind of arrogance comes naturally, and the Republican freshmen show no early signs of wanting to stay for the perks of pelf and power. They understand that the only cure for it is a boot in the butt."
--Wesley Pruden, "The Freshmen Apply a Spine Stiffener", in the Washington Times
Crack slowly finishes her entry on the chalk board and looks at you once more with her large eyes.
SEE? Now… USE YOUR NEW WORD!"

Crack: Another day another dollar! So use your new word, give it a holler!
Todays word is...
Peculation - Noun - Embezzlement of public money, or assets, etc.
Pronounced - "peck-yoo-LAY-shun"
In a sentence / common use of the word:"Another ill effect of the exclusion [of long-term politicians from continuing in public office] would be the temptation to sordid views, to peculation, and, in some instances, to usurpation."

Now... go forth and use your NEW word!
*Crack smiles happily at you, hoping that she has given you a new word to add to your internal dictionary*
