With the Olympics wrapping up this weekend, the Samanayrs have decided to have a try at some of the fun as well. They've set up a bunch of hurdles on a well prepared track and are ready to go.

Olympic Hurdle Dash

This race is like a normal ground course, with well packed ground. The only obstacles will be hurdles, although there will be a few more than in a normal race. As this is a ground course, so flying is not permitted.

There are 10 spots open for this race.


Racing applications are now CLOSED. The apply for a race spot, send a PM to my account, silvermoondragon, either on the forum or PI(pm’s sent to Sushidragon may get missed or you miss getting the spot you want), with the subject as Olympic Hurdle Dash and the following form filled out:

Applications will be open until 7:30pm PST, Feb. 22. The race will be run Feb. 23 around 7:00pm PST


There are a few new prizes available for this race, similar to medals but with a little twist.
Gold Olive Wreath: Foals get florae (olive branches), +10% chance of twins
Silver Olive Wreath: Foals get florae (olive branches), +5% chance of twins
Bronze Olive Wreath: Foals get florae (olive branches)

If you want to make sure you sent the message, click the "_ new messages" at the top of the page, then you can check the "Sent Messages" (for messages that the recipient has read) or "Outbox" (for ones the recipient has not read) on the left sidebar. <3

Ok guys, of our 25 entries, random.org has chosen our racers! Hopefully I'll see some of you tomorrow to cheer on the racers and see them over their hurdles.

Well, it looks like I didn't get in this time, but good luck to all the racers that did!

I kept checking, did I mess something up? Where do we see the race? Am I having a time conversion problem again? LOL Wouldn't surprise me. I am sorry if I was looking in the wrong place. ^.^

I didn't know if it would be PI time or forum time. Maybe I haven't missed it?

@hardwired - it's 7:00pm PST tonight so you haven't missed it. I'm not to familiar with PI time but I think that would be 3:00 on the 24th PI time? The race will happen right here in this thread.

@ hardwired - Don't worry you're not required to be around for the race, but it certainly makes it more interesting when people cheer on their Samanayrs.

I'm intrigued to see how this goes. I really enjoy the races, and I missed the last one. I wonder how Spite is going to do. He's none to happy about being made to race, but Retinue wasn't interested. She's still complaining about how the fog from her last race messed up her mane. Hehe.

I'm curious about how well my Mystic boy will do with 6 legs >> Eheheheh *flees from him*

Welcome everyone to our Olympic hurdle dash! The racers stand in line at the start, ready to start the race. The hurdles stand along the track in front of them, perhaps a little daunting to some.

As the starting shot fires, our racers are off. Look at them go!

The hurdles slow down a few Sams as they run along the track, but there are many more to go.

Come on, Spite. You can do it. Just muster a little effort, old boy!

Come on Earth! Move those legs in unison! Front pairs, back pair! Up and at 'em!
