So it's been far too long since the last interactive race. February seems to be a fairly calm month for me with a nice school break so I figured I should run one while I have the time!

Wind Chill

This is a Flying course on a snowy windy plain. This is also an interactive race!

There are 10 spots open for this race.


This race will run much slower than usual as I am hoping for your participation. Each round will allow an hour for the participants to respond (unless everyone responds before the hour is up)

So what do you have to do? Each round, you can choose a movement type for your Samanayr:
- Easy (slow movement of either 1,2,3 but with a +5 bonus to any obstacles your Samanayr comes across during this round, +1 endurance for future obstacles)
- Normal (default movement, movement from 1-6 with no bonuses or disadvantages)
- Hard(fast movement of either 4,5,6 but with -5 bonus to any obstacles your Samanayr comes across during this round, small chance of tripping/no movement)

So how do you choose how to race? It’s easy, just post your movement type in bold. You can get as “in-character” as you like, here are some example responses:
"easy"
"Race of the Racing Racer takes it easy this round"
"Race looked around at the other Samanayrs running their fastest and decided she would take it easy, slow and steady wins the race. Besides, this way she could watch and learn from their mistakes"

If you have to leave during the race, don’t despair. Your Samanayr can still race, it will just default to the normal movement role, working exactly like a normal race would. You can jump back in in at any point.
However, if you can, please let me know you won’t be around for a bit so we can continue the race without waiting for your response.

- Depending on your movement type, you can receive either a +5, -5, or 0 bonus for obstacles you come across on your turn.
- If you have endurance saved up from previous rounds of slow movement, each point will give you a +1 to get over an obstacle. If the endurance points are needed to get over the obstacle, they will be used up; otherwise, they are saved for the next obstacle.
- If stuck at an obstacle(i.e were unable to pass on the round before), you may write up a little response if you’d like. This is NOT required, but you may receive a few bonus points for getting past the obstacle that turn.



Racing applications will open on February 12 at 10:00am PST To apply for a race spot, send a PM to my account, silvermoondragon, either on the forum or PI(pm’s sent to Sushidragon may get missed or you miss getting the spot you want), with the subject as Wind Chill and the following form filled out:

PM would work better for me on the 17th and 18th I work until 4 MT on both those days. I'm off the 19th. If I don't get to participate this time though it will be fine.

Hi everyone, I've updated the race post with the date the race will be held: Sunday, February 19 at 3:00pm PST.

Applications are open tomorrow February 12 at 10:00am PST and will remain open until February 15 at 5pm PST. I will try to post our racers up later that evening.

Remember: You don't have to be around to race, but if you know you won't be there, please let me know so we can go ahead with the race without waiting for your response (your Samanayr will race like normal)

Ok, I've now posted our racers.

So far I have Toxick711, Bighorns, and CareBear89 listed as not able to be present. If this changes, let me know so we can wait up for you. Likewise, if anyone else can no longer make it, please let me know. And with that, see you on the 19th.

Hi everyone! Thanks for coming out to our first interactive race in awhile!

Our racers stand at the starting line ready to launch into the air and begin their race.


Please let me know if you would like to run easy, medium, or hard. We will wait approximately an hour for responses to move on to the next round unless all the expected answers are in.

Prize was ready and rarin' to go. She was going to go hard right out of the gate. She was going to give it her all.

Having never raced before, Parting decides to take it easy for now.

Even though she's excited for her first race, Purr decides to start off easy.

Hope I'm not too late. Had to go to work with my mom today, and the race kind of slipped my mind. I'm here now though. XD

I'm fine either way.

Wanting to conserve her energy, Prize decides to slow to a more normal pace this time.

Still unsure, Parting continued to take it easy.

I would rather go on once we've all posted instead of waiting an hour.

Drifting aimlessly, Snowflake decides she can take it easy after such a good start.

I have to leave for an unplanned errand. Can I tell you what Glide will do for the next couple of rounds or does it have to be the default?
