Samanayrs

I'm going through the database right now and noticing a bunch of Sams with missing or incorrect traits, or question marks, so I though it'd be good to set up a thread so that Sam owners can check which traits their Sams have before entering them in the database! You guys are awesome for keeping the database updated, so hopefully this will help you XD

If you're not sure which traits your Samanayr has, please just post its image here. I'll let you know which traits your Sam has, and then you can enter it into the database or edit its current entry!

(don't worry about posting any Sams that are already in the database, since I'm going through all of the ones already in there right now)

Tail wings, for sure, but are her other wings regular or vestigial?

The other pair of wings are vestigial butterfly wings Don't know if she'd be able to fly with those, but maybe if she flapped reeeeeeally hard..

Hmmm... Well, she's got nice long legs, so perhaps she can use them to add a bit more height to a jump.

I honestly don't know how to classify Robot's traits and elemental abilities, Sushi. How would you label all of the Metal Elemental's traits, and what kind of abilities would he have- to build machines or communicate with machines or control machines or... what? O_o; Could you tell me, please?

I'd consider Robot's traits to be Armor, Inorganic, Bioluminescence, and Solid Eyes. Inorganic is a new trait, possibly unique, where the Samanayr is made of inorganic components - in this case, metal.

As for abilities.. there aren't really many machines in the Samanayr world, since everything is mostly fantasy/magic related. One thing I can think of is the difficulties Robot would face with reproduction, given that he's not an organic creature. If he could find a mechanically-inclined mage to help him out, he might just be able to create 'offspring' with another Samanayr that could integrate inorganic and organic parts - like an Integrated Samanayr, but more so.

Should he encounter any other machines, Robot would definitely have an affinity with them, easily seeing how everything fits together and operates.

Your explanation about his abilities makes sense, given the Samanayr world is mostly based in fantasy and that Robot's origins are from sci-fi. It's easy to understand now why he would just have an affinity with the few machines which do exist, as well as easily seeing how their parts fit together and operate. Nothing more extravagant than what I was thinking. Ahaaa, I also had a feeling that he might have problems with breeding. Poor Robot! Way to go, Yui. Good job thinking out everything and forgetting one of the most vital parts of being a stallion. XD; Oh well, at least there is a feasible method for him to sire a foal.

So I'm thinking: Phoenix Tail, Feathered Wings, Feathered Tufts, Feather Mane, Cheek Feathers, Horn Nubs(?) (and are Ghost Wings a trait?)

Ok, just wanting to check on this lovely boy I won in Silver's Pictionary game. I know he has leonine mane and tufted tail (which means I can probably write his backstory as him having desert ancestry *glees*). I think he's also albino, but I wanted to check on that before entering him into the database. *cuddles him*

@Pathos - Ghost Wings are a trait, although they'll go by the grand name of Spectral Wings XD She also has Horn Nubs and Abbreviated Feathered Wings (they're hard to see, they're behind the Spectral Wings and above the folded Feathered Wings!

@Origami_Dragon - He is an albino

Okay, I don't think this fellow here has any traits other than his species traits, but double checking.

Mini, Talons, Faery Wings, Large Ears, Furred Antennae, Fan Tail and that's it, right?

Also, since these little guys are a new species, should I wait to enter him into the database until Minayrs have been coded in and are appearing on the dropdown menu?

Edit: Oh, and not trait related, but his cert has his name as Iridescencent which isn't...a word I don't think. Should he be Iridescent instead? Or is that extra 'cen' meant to be there?

Alright, I gotta ask, what traits does this lady have? The things on her legs look more like Armor than Scales to me, but I need to make sure. :3

@Origami_Dragon - You've got his traits right! I'll try to remember to add the Minayr species to the database tomorrow, if you wouldn't mind holding off adding him. And the 'Iridescencent' was a typo, I've fixed it and reuploaded his image!

@Bluestarwolf12 - She does have armor on her legs rather than scales Her full traits list is Pure Black Eyes, Kirin Ears, Kirin Horn, Scales, and Tufted Tail.

Edit: And he's in! This is what I put for his abilities; let me know if it needs changed.

Help? I know she's got feather wings, but that's the only thing I'm sure of. Are those long hooves, hooks, or spikes on her feet? And does she have horns or is that just awesome hair tufts?

Errm. My best guess is,...

Faery Wings(are they vestigial?), Leg Wings, Maybe Florae(are the moss patches color spots or actual patches of moss?)

And I think that's it. I'm not sure if the tail is just flipped up over her back of it it's an actual trait, either. "Curled Canine Tail", though it doesn't look like a canine tail.

@feyani - Trickle's traits are Upright Ears, Florae (that is real moss on her!), Vestigial Faery Wings, Leg Wings, and Curled Tail
